Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. For me it signifies a time to pause, reflect, and thank God for our blessings. The blessing I would like to share is contentment. If we are not careful, contentment can be one of the most elusive blessings to receive. This year, which has been particularly challenging and unsettling, it may seem even more elusive.
Recently, I heard a story about a billionaire who, almost overnight, went bankrupt and lost everything. A friend said to that person, “I knew you when you were rich, and now I know you when you are poor. You are still the same person I have always known.” My thoughts went to the circumstances which are often out of our control and to the friend’s comment which reminded me that regardless of being rich or poor, we can receive the blessing of contentment.
From all of us at Employment Technologies, our Thanksgiving blessing for our clients and friends is one of contentment. We are thankful for each of you and we are blessed. Our hope is that in your faith, family, work, friends, and finances you will find a blessing of contentment in this season of gratitude.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
