Employment Technologies Director of Research Awarded Full Membership in SIOP

Mary Ann Bucklan, Director of Research at Employment Technologies, was recently awarded full membership into the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). She joins the more than 8,000 scientists and professionals around the world who work to understand, measure, and predict human behavior in organizations – dedicated to advancing the field of industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology.

Headquartered in Florida, Employment Technologies creates innovative and engaging simulation experiences that improve hiring, accelerate job performance, and inspire success. For more than 30 years, the company has been a leader simulation and talent prediction, as demonstrated by its award-winning industry solutions.

“SIOP includes some of the most prominent and successful I-O psychologists who are thought leaders in our field, so it is a true honor to attain this recognition. Being a member of SIOP keeps me informed about cutting-edge research that has immediate applications for our product innovations,” says Bucklan.

SIOP members work to enhance human performance and well-being at work through applied behavioral science. They advocate the scientist-practitioner model in the application of psychology to all types of organizational and workplace settings, such as manufacturing, commercial enterprises, labor unions, and public agencies. Members work in several fields within I-O psychology, such as testing/assessment, leadership development, staffing, management, teams, compensation, workplace safety, diversity, and work-life balance.

“Mary Ann is an exemplary practitioner and has truly earned her election into SIOP,” says Joseph Sefcik, president of Employment Technologies.

Ms. Bucklan has been the lead researcher at Employment Technologies for 11 years. She works closely with organizations to conduct client-centered research and development. In addition, she partners with academic institutions to explore areas of mutual research interest. Ms. Bucklan was a lead developer on the EASy Simulation® Virtual Customer suite of simulations, which won the Top HR Product of the Year award from HR Executive Magazine. She is coauthor of The Job Analysis Kit (1995) and is a contributing author in Simulations for Personnel Selection (2013).
